The Pod

A Church & community together project

About the Pod

As a church we are aiming to be there for the community in a more supportive way. Being based in the heart of the town in the middle of Cheap Street, The Pod is in a very accessible position, with a shop window that can be used to build awareness of all sorts of community groups and support, as well as encouraging more consideration of the Christian message.

We want to work with other churches in the town other groups, and members of the community to link people together, using the shop premises at 54 Cheap Street as a contact point, information hub and drop off/pick up point for various appeals. We aim to promote ways in which we can all contribute to the well being of the whole community.

Acts 435 Financial

Support

Acts 435 aims to bring specific practical financial help, in a small but significant ways, to people known to be in need. This is achieved through crowdfunding which results in 100% of the donation going directly to the chosen recipient.

Cheap Street Church have now linked with Acts 435, so when an appropriate need is identified, the applicant will normally met with an Advocate to complete a simple Application form providing key information.

The Advocate will then post their request onto the Acts 435 website, and when the funds are received they will be transferred to the applicant, ensuring that the funds are used correctly.
